Radio Drama Programmes
Commission was originally set up to produce Christian radio drama programmes and this still remains a core activity. We are involved with other forms of radio programming as well.
We began producing drama in the late 1970s following requests for some Christian missionary stations who wanted programmes which would attract non committed listeners. Everyone loves a story and the Bible has some great stories to tell about God’s love and dealings with humankind. Consequently most of our drama is set in Bible times. But they’re not just historical stories – they have a real connection to people today.
Many of our programmes have dealt with major Biblical characters such as David or Peter, others are less well known. Our writers come from various walks of life. Many of our dramas are 15 minutes in length, and one such programme can take many hours of work to produce; we currently record 13 of these every year. We have also recorded special programmes for local radio stations at Christmas and Easter
Commission are on the
lookout for new volunteers
to help with writing,
engineering and drama.
Full training will be given.
